"First Footing" ist eine einzigartige schottische Tradition, die vor über 1000 Jahren von den Wikingern ins Leben gerufen wurde, bei der die erste Person, die ein Haus nach Mitternacht am Hogmanay (Schottisch Last Day of the Year) – mit dem „ersten Fuss“ – betritt, und Glück bringt, und das zusammen - wie könnte es anders sein - mit einem (oder zwei) Drams.

Notes by the distillery
ON THE NOSE: Hints of dried fruits lead the way, overlaid by sweet toffee notes. There’s also a tang of vanilla, with lovely coffee and dark chocolate notes following.
ON THE PALATE: Golden syrup meets melt-in-the-mouth toffee. Heady stuff, and rich with it. Fruity sweetness coats the palate, with sultana and honey flavours unfurling. Dare we say it… it’s like a mouthful of Christmas cake.
FINISH: There’s no peat, but the bourbon casks have lent a gentle hint of oak smoke to this lovely dram, and it fades away blissfully at the end. If First Footing really does bring good luck, this is the way to mark it.
